Description

Clusters of deepest red flowers held on airy stems above grassy foliage. Thrives in poor, well drained soil in full sun. Looks lovely with the seed heads of Pulsatillas (see photograph) and they enjoy the same well-drained, sunny sites. Dislikes wet, cold, heavy soils. Height to 60cm.

Sue's Notes

This plant shone out of Cleve West's Chelsea show garden in 2011. I bought a few plants, collected the seed and we've had it in our stock list ever since. It can be short lived in wet years but produces seed, so collect it and sow in spring.
